While we’re talking about Mexico here at Seas Lyfe, let’s take a quick trip south of the border to some of the best beaches close to San Diego. The Baja peninsula, encompassing the Mexican states of Baja California and Baja California Sur, has 775 miles of Pacific coastline. Much of the coast is famous for its sailing and diving locations. The wildlife there is varied and unique, and the peninsula is most famous for the migration of California gray whales in late fall.

The beaches in Baja are beautiful, with major efforts being made to clean up the beaches. Baja Beach in Ensenada is one of the best beaches to visit, and just a couple of hours from downtown San Diego. The Baja peninsula is at the tip of the Priority Conservation Area of the North American Pacific coastline; the preservation of its ecology is important for our regional and global public health and conservation efforts.
