The tide comes and goes daily, but what’s the importance of the tide?

The tide is measured by the rise and fall of the sea level caused by the effects of gravity, the moon, and the sun, as well as the rotation of the Earth.

Tide tables are used to predict and anticipate to the amplitude and times of the waters ebbing and flowing at any given location. Predictions are influenced by many factors including the position of the moon and sun as well as the amplitude of the tide which can be measured by the shape of the coastline as well as the temperature of the water.

Tides vary widely based on the timescales which range from hours to years due to a multitude of factors including atmospheric pressure and coastal topography.

Barometric pressure also has a vast impact of tide calendars based on the volume of low and high-pressure systems moving in and out of the area.

Almanacs such as those used by farmers have been employed for almost half a millennia based on their ability to shift due to environmental factors including temperature and volume of mass.

To Ebb tide means a tide that is withdrawing from its natural point of origin. Whereas a flowing tide is one that is filling said space.
