On September 15, 2018, The Ocean Conservancy is hosting its International Coastal Cleanup. This has become a symbol of hope throughout the years. Communities from all over the globe come together to clean our entire planet, we are working for something larger than our individual nations.

The International Coastal Cleanup started 30 years ago, being spearheaded by Linda Maraniss and Kathy O’Hara. Kathy and Linda began in 1986 by first reaching out to the Texas General Land Office. Not only did they ask their community to pick up trash but also record and document each piece of trash in an attempt to prevent more ocean pollution.

After 30 years, more than 100 countries have come together each year and join in on the cleanup. This is a global movement working for the mutual benefit of our entire planet. Join us on September 15, 2018 by picking up trash and spreading awareness.
