Have you heard of the sailing raccoon?

Known to many as the trash panda or the ultimate suburban survivor, raccoons are notorious for their tenacity and ability to make the most of their environments. Most people scowl in dismay at the thought of these masked marauders sharing their space, moreover, others are left to wonder what in the heck these furry bandits are capable of. Raccoons have been known to be aggressive and territorial creatures which lends to reason that raccoons may be the best pirates. Devoid of morale and common courtesy these furry bandits are natural land conquistadors, pillaging trash cans and raiding attics as they please.

The sailing Raccoon has a deeply rooted history. The HMS Raccoon was a British Royal Navy Sloop that fought in the war of 1812 under the command of Captain William Black. The Raccoon sailed across the Columbia River and made it’s way to the California Coast. Though throughout the journey Captain Black and his crew were faced with many adversities not unknown to the fur traders of early America.
